Conversational organisation

Turn loosely spoken or written thoughts into Herculean projects, tasks, dependencies, Memories, and labels with a connected AI.

Beginner

Herculean treats artificial intelligence as a first-class integration. Long before Herculean was designed, I’d been using AI extensively for dictation, summarisation and classification. I’ve also designed and developed AI models and systems myself, primarily in visual recognition, but also in areas such as sentiment analysis.

Ignoring all the hype surrounding the AI industry, large language models are exceptionally good at extracting meaning, categorising information and bringing structure to messy text.

This makes them particularly effective at interpreting natural speech and dictation, even when sentences are poorly constructed, thoughts jump between subjects or instructions are incomplete.

Herculean provides the structured environment that turns those capabilities into a personal execution system.

Your AI can interpret a loosely dictated conversation and translate it into meaningful actions: creating projects and tasks, identifying dependencies, configuring Memories and applying appropriate labels.

By integrating with Large Language Models Herculean combines an AI’s ability to understand unstructured language with Herculean’s ability to organise and preserve the resulting work.

Rather than tying you to a particular model or AI provider, Herculean provides a consistent productivity system that compatible AI services can work with. That means that you can provide the thoughts, AI interprets your intentions and Herculean turns them into structured, visible and actionable work. Then you move forward into endless success.

From messy thoughts to structured action

Conversation, whether through a chat box or speech-to-text dictation, is one of the most natural and least demanding ways for humans to communicate.

We can express ideas, explain problems and share information rapidly through speech, without needing to carefully organise every thought into a coherent structure beforehand.

However, turning those thoughts into organised, actionable work traditionally requires considerable cognitive effort. You need to identify the important information, establish priorities, break down problems, determine dependencies and decide what needs to happen next.

The effort required to organise the work dwarfs the effort needed to just chat about it.

Because LLMs are literally built for interpreting imperfect language, you no longer need to spend as much mental energy carefully structuring your thoughts before communicating them.

With the AI doing the organisation you now have more time and energy to put into actually doing the work.

Progress doesn’t require immediate perfection

Herculean is a living system. Your work can be updated, refined, reorganised and improved as your capability expands.

This flexibility reflects how real work happens. Plans change, new information emerges, priorities shift and sometimes things you’ve already completed need another look.

Also, you get better. External pressure becomes internal motivation. You stop being shamed into hard work and instead aim to master your endeavours. You don’t dream of doing great things, you do great things because that’s who you are now.

As things will change, you don’t need to be perfect. You just need to start.

A casual conversation with your AI is enough to get started. You don’t need a perfectly constructed prompt, a comprehensive plan or even a particularly clear understanding of what you want to achieve.

As you continue talking, dictating ideas and working through problems, your AI can help refine your thoughts, organise your tasks and improve the structure of your Herculean workspace.

Human conversations are full of filler words, unfinished sentences, repetition and ideas that change halfway through. That’s normal. Communication doesn’t need to be perfectly structured to convey valuable information.

The same principle applies when working with Herculean.

You can start with an incomplete thought, turn it into a rough task, refine it through further conversations and gradually develop it into a clear, actionable plan. The first step is always simple.
